Miso

Another widely regarded ingredient enjoyed worldwide, it is thought to have originated in Ancient China, but has since spread across the continent. Miso is made up of fermented soybeans, water, salt, and a culture called Koji. In the process, miso produces a variety of helpful bacteria that improve digestion, immune system functioning, and gut health. Miso is typically enjoyed as a soup, mixed with tofu and green onions, two other plant-based foods that strengthen the body against illness.
